We had fun at Aqua Tots today! The pool was warm, warm, warm. Maren practiced floating front and back, kicking her feet, reaching with her arms, dipping her chin and ears in the water, hanging on to the side of the pool and (dah, dah, dah...) going under! She's napping now, but would tell you she had a great time and can't wait to go back next week.

A Week in Review

Here's what Maren was up to this week -

She removed everything from the bottom three shelves on her book case multiple times...

She tried to eat her Pampers (I tried to explain these were not the "Edible Pampers" she saw on SNL).

She climbed on and over the cases of pop waiting to be put away.



She and Daddy got caught playing in the shredded paper.

11 Months!!

Maren is 11 months old today! She's growing up so fast! I can't believe we need to prepare for a 1st birthday party already! She is impressing us with her pulling up and cruising now, having conversations with herself with things that sound more like words, playing games like "drop the cup" and "pull everything out of mommy's purse," and even finding Daddy and Mommy's nose (eyes and mouth too, but these are sometimes hit or miss). She even chases Izzy and is trying to thrown her toys for her. We've been having nice days to visit the park across the street or at the nearby school and Maren really likes to swing and slide. I guess she is probably around 18 lbs now with LITTLE feet! We can tell that she has gotten taller and thinner recently...less chunk on those thighs!

Compassion

Last Saturday night we went to visit our friends Ben, Melissa, and Alena. Alena is the big 5 months now! It was getting very late for Alena (you know, 7:15 or so) and she wasn't really into playing on the floor with Maren anymore. Maren tried her hardest to keep Alena entertained by offering her animals from the Farmer's Tractor Train.

In the end, she just offered her hand in sympathy. Who would have thought that you could see the early stages of compassion from a 10 month old! How sweet!

A Day in the Park

We took Maren across the street to Daniel's Park this afternoon to try out the play equipment. Maren tried out a few slides and two different swings. She really enjoyed the swings! We can't wait for more consistent spring weather like this! Maybe it is finally around the corner.

It was 70 Degrees!

Ahhhhhh! When I left work this afternoon and was hit with WARM wind, I about passed out! The family decided to take a spring walk together.


We stopped at the park by the trail so Maren could try out the slide for the first time. Now, we know this weather won't last, but it was a wonderful change to the cold.
