Meeting Miss Lily...

Miss Lily Grace made a trip up from Texas to visit family for the week, so Maren and I went to D-town to meet her! Miss Lily is in the middle with her mommy, Mandi. Our good friends Melissa and Travis came too! The three mommies took a picture together. The last time we all stood like this was probably prom, 10 years ago!

Lily was a bit too small, but Maren and Travis played in the bird bath together! Sorry about all the rocks, Kathy!

Travis showed Maren how to put the rocks in and she quickly followed suit! Soon, both were muddy!

Travis's shadow decided she wanted to sit in the chair with him too...too cute!

It was great to spend time with old friends!

Hot Summer Days

It was nice and cool in the shady pool though! Maren's friend Alena came over to swim with her. While Maren was a bit over-bearing and took lots of toys away, a good time was had by all.

Alena liked reaching out for the grass and trying to pet the doggie.

Birthday present from Uncle Andy and Auntie Sara

Uncle Andy and Auntie Sara gave me a toy I already had in April, so mom took it back and we have been waiting until Summer to find something to use the gift card on...The weather has finally warmed up enough, so I got a pool! I was a little impatient waiting while mom blew the thing up, but I dove right in (literally!) when she was filling it from the garden hose. I didn't care one bit that it was freezing! But I did enjoy when mom went inside and got a bucket of warm water to add. So I splashed, played, poured water, and blew bubbles for almost an hour! Now, I like to make my gift cards go far and since the pool wasn't very much, I got to pick out another toy! Mom helped me find this "Pretty Learning Purse" that I can put things in and take out. A favorite passtime! THANK YOU UNCLE ANDY AND AUNTIE SARA! And because 3 pictures just isn't enough, mom wants to add this one of me in a cute dress I go from a family friend for my birthday too.

The communal lunch was actually very cute today. Maren shared the crackers she brought and Kate shared her peach.

Kate's mommy is the BEST! She let Kate and Maren play in the pool INSIDE since it was rainy and cool. Maren has a blast in the pool, but Kate was a little irritated that she was taking up space in the pool. We mommies managed to cram in things we wanted to do all summer into 2 hours this afternoon - lunch, pool time, and a walk. We will miss you Vogel's! Can't wait to visit you and have you visit us in the new house!

Pink Pony

One more post today! Maren riding her pink pony! I think the pony might be backwards though - Maren only pushes it backwards! She does know how to play the music though and she bounces when it comes on.

"Bubbles" More, Please.

Here's a video of Maren saying bubble (new word today) and signing more, please. She's too stinkin cute. She even started saying "circle" when we were back inside playing with a pretend laptop thing. Who needs walking? :-P

We are still waiting for hot weather so we can get a baby pool and go to the splash pads, but today's weather has been perfect for some time outside playing with Izzy, blowing bubbles, and exploring.

It all started with a striped onesie this morning after I had to be changed out of my pj's. When mom got up and discovered that I was only wearing a onesie, she added my polka dot leggies. A while later, Mom found that my arms were cold and decided to put on this brown polka dot sweater that was laying around. Don't worry, Grandma, I'll make them change me before we go anywhere! :)

Start of Summer

Mom's water tastes better than mine! But the bottle is as big as me!

We are on Day 1 of summer vacation together! This afternoon will bring a stop to the new house to drop off tile for the fireplace and a visit to a friend's to pick up some boxes for moving. FUN, huh? We will do more exciting things next week, I promise!
