Fudge Pops

MMMMmmmm.....fudge pops!
Since the fudge pop was melting down her chin and neck, Maren decided is would be a good idea to tuck her napkin under her chin. That worked really well to cover a napkin-sized area! (See the drips below the napkin?) Fudge pops were Maren's choice at the grocery store...that, and grapes.

Rain, Rain, Rain

Our third day of rain and, boy, does the grass look great! But that means not much outside time. In addition, Maren has been working on learning to potty train and we are exhausted by the afternoon when it is done raining! So this morning, she was begging me to put on her suit and swim in her pool. So I filled the tub instead.

Works for me!

Summer Fun

It's rainy today, but yesterday morning was bright and sunny!

Maren spends a lot of time in the yard finding Izzy's toys and throwing them for her.

She's getting pretty good with her overhand!

PS -I have great photography skills. Usually I am throwing the camera back up to try and catch smiles. If I use that technique, I end up with large poles in my pictures.

Hey, You! Blog Neglector!

Shame on me. I've never (ok, rarely?) neglected the blog for more than a week, let a lone TWO? Either I am stressed with end of the school year stuff, or we have been really boring. While it is probably a combination of the two, I'll blame the end of the school year. Two more days, folks.

Maren has really been into building with her legos recently. She loves to make towers and will spend a lot of time doing it independently. (Future architect?)

It's been hot. And poor Maren's mommy makes her wear a hat when the sun is beating down. This is the result once cooled and back inside.

Last night, Maren's friends Anthony and Olivia came over for dinner. I told her about an hour before they were coming. She ran to the kitchen and started talking about forks and how "Anpy"and "Oliv-a" needed a fork. Then she set her table for them. No prompting. Except I had to reach the plates. The rearranging of the set table went on for over 20 mins, along with chattering about where everyone would sit and whose plate this one was, etc. Then she decided that we all needed to eat outside so she started carrying chairs out the door. Funny girl.

I hope everyone had a fun Memorial Day weekend! We had lots of fun. The basement got a lot of attention too and Lee reports things are going very well in the electrical department.

A little too quiet...

Last Friday afternoon, Maren had been playing in her room and reading books by herself. I noticed that things got a little too quiet and thought "that can't be good..." so I tip-toed over to spy on her. Here is what I found...

"Whatcha doin'?"
"I'm gettin' my toe fuzzies."

Trying out the Wagon

How many engineers does it take to put a Radio Flyer wagon together??? :)

Oh how she felt like a queen!

Just getting started in the driveway.

When she got tired, she got out to push...

Walking along...while Grandma pulled the wagon. :) We need to go on more walks so she doesn't think she needs to walk too.

Curious George Birthday Party

Maren had a Curious George party for her birthday this past Saturday. The kids who came planted flowers in pots they had colored and went on a George Scavenger Hunt.
Of course there was cake! Aunt Alisa continues to impress all with her creations. So special and time consuming. We really appreciated and loved her hard work!

Maren having a blast looking for goodies during the hunt.

Here's a good picture...I agree, she looks nothing like her mommy.
(insert sarcasm)

A little out of order, but here is a close up of the George cake and man with a yellow hat cookies. They looked fabulous and tasted even better!

Maren opened MANY great gifts. But i had to share the m&m's from her Great Grandma and Grandpa Klein who couldn't make it. They also sent over a huge rose bush that I am now responsible for...

Cake eating - so different from last year! There's a fork involved for one thing. Bubba dog couldn't make it down to help clean her up, but the mess was actually from that chocolate covered banana...so he probably wouldn't have been allowed anyway.

Moooooowah. Love this girl.
