Lazy Saturday

Just to convince myself that Maren MAY still crawl, I took a picture of her on all fours today. She still only makes one crawling movement and then decides to belly-it because it is faster! Oh well, it's actually quite entertaining to watch the belly crawl and we can still keep track of her pretty well! We made it above 40 degrees here today so our trip to Sam's Club for formula and diapers was fabulous and sunny! It's so much easier to travel between places when you aren't worried about your baby's nose freezing off by the time you get to the door! Happy Weekend~

NINE MONTHS

Izzy gave me a kiss for my 9-month birthday! Mommy and Daddy can't believe I've been around for 9 months and how much I have changed and grown. I've been spending more time rocking on my hands and knees over the past couple days and am just trying to figure out how to move everything so I don't bonk my nose! I also really like to clap for Izzy and when Mommy or Daddy do something neat or funny.

Snow Day #4

Well, I'll call this one a Frost Bite day. -27 outside right now. Hopefully it will get better soon! Maren is again faced with the daunting task of removing each toy from her basket one by one... She stopped to say "hi!"

Snow Day #3

Maren and I are starting to get used to a snow day each week. It's nice to stay in our pajamas a little longer in the morning. Maren is tuckered out and napping right now, but she has spent the morning chasing Izzy and Izzy's toys. Maren likes to retrieve them for Izzy, but hasn't figured out how to throw them yet. This kind of drives the dog crazy. As for snow, we got 7.5 inches over night (per the weatherman), so, when I add up the totals since last Friday night, we should have about 19-20 inches on the ground right now. Plus for those of you who live down south (you KNOW you are missing Iowa right now...) the sun is beautiful today, but you can only go out for 15 mins before getting frost bite. The temp is supposed to frop to -6 by this afternoon and reach a whopping high of -14 or something tomorrow.

Outfit from Uncle Eric

Maren wore the outfit her Uncle Eric gave her today. I thought he would like to see her in it. Now, I am following through with the post, even though he stopped by tonight and saw her in it! Maren was happy to see her uncle, but was curious, then seemed leery of his mohawk. :) I know Grandma and Grandpa will be checking for new pictures, so I will post it anyway...

Crawling?

While rolling is still Maren's preferred method of travel, she has recently started this modified army crawl thing. Perhaps hand/knee crawling will me in the very near future, but it has been fun watching her move forward with more intent. I think she might wear the bellies out of her clothes and the right knee too, since this is the leg she pushes off with most. Lee and I need to baby proof a little better as the dog toy basket and stereo are hot items now. I've been trying to get a picture of Maren's teeth, but she hides them from me at any chance she gets, especially when the camera is out! Her bottom teeth broke through a day apart form each other on December 27th and 28th.
